Controlling Arsenic Accumulation in Rice Grain under Nanomaterials-Assisted Optimal Greenhouse Set-Up

چکیده
Rice is being increasingly exposed to inorganic arsenic and this affects half of the world population because they are rice consumers. In study, pot experiments were carried out investigate effect two dose-dependent nanomaterials (silica graphene) treatment on varied levels (2, 7 12 mg/kg). The results showed that both affected significantly with 1 mg/mL nanomaterial. Arsenic adversely plant height, tillering, number grains, grain weight when high concentrations applied at mg/kg, could not withstand it died before 75 days even in presence graphene. Based inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry analysis, silica nanoparticles highest inhibition total accumulation as 93% (control plant), 84% (2 mg/kg), 67% (7 mg/kg) 35 % (12 whereas graphene lower percentages. This outcome confirms prevent uptake, translocate from root grains able offer a promising way reduce consumer health risk.

Transporters of arsenite in rice and their role in arsenic accumulation in rice grain.
Arsenic poisoning affects millions of people worldwide. Human arsenic intake from rice consumption can be substantial because rice is particularly efficient in assimilating arsenic from paddy soils, although the mechanism has not been elucidated. Here we report that two different types of transporters mediate transport of arsenite, the predominant form of arsenic in paddy soil, from the externa...
متن کاملReducing greenhouse gas emissions, water use, and grain arsenic levels in rice systems.
Agriculture is faced with the challenge of providing healthy food for a growing population at minimal environmental cost. Rice (Oryza sativa), the staple crop for the largest number of people on earth, is grown under flooded soil conditions and uses more water and has higher greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions than most crops. The objective of this study was to test the hypothesis that alternate wet...

Arsenic (As) is a chronic poison that causes severe skin lesions and cancer. Rice (Oryza sativa L.) is a major dietary source of As; therefore, reducing As accumulation in the rice grain and thereby diminishing the amount of As that enters the food chain is of critical importance. Here, we report that a member of the Oryza sativa C-type ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporter (OsABCC) family, Os...
متن کاملArsenic in rice: I. Estimating normal levels of total arsenic in rice grain.
High levels of arsenic (As) in rice grain are a potential concern for human health. Variability in total As in rice was evaluated using 204 commercial rice samples purchased mostly in retail stores in upstate New York and supplemented with samples from Canada, France, Venezuela, and other countries. Total As concentration in rice varied from 0.005 to 0.710 mg kg(-1). We combined our data set wi...
متن کاملAccumulation of Arsenic in Tissues of Rice Plant (Oryza 1 sativa L.) and its Distribution in Fractions of Rice Grain
26 A study was conducted to investigate the accumulation and distribution of arsenic in 27 different fractions of rice grain (Oryza sativa L.) collected from arsenic affected area of 28 Bangladesh. The agricultural soil of study area has become highly contaminated with 29 arsenic due to the excessive use of arsenic-rich underground water (0.070±0.006 mg l, 30 n=6) for irrigation. Arsenic conten...
